Green Moong Curry
Here is a simple recipe for Green Moong Dal:
1. Wash the green moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for at least 2-3 hours.
2. In a pressure cooker, heat oil or ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
4. Add chopped onions and cook until they turn translucent.
5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
6. Drain the soaked green moong dal and add it to the pressure cooker.
7. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder,garam masala,cumin powder and salt. Mix well.
8. Add 2 cups of water and stir everything together.
9. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on medium heat for about 3-4 whistles or until the dal is cooked through.
10. Once the pressure releases, open the lid and check the consistency. If it's too thick, add some water and adjust the salt.
11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti. Add some lemon juice.
You can also give a TADKA of ghee and garlic in the end to this Moong for the typical dhaba taste.
