White Coconut Chutney




White coconut chutney is a popular South Indian condiment that is typically served with dosa, idli, and other Indian dishes. Here's a simple recipe to make white coconut chutney at home:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/2 cup roasted chana dal
- 2-3 green chilies
- 1 small piece of ginger
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- For tempering: 1 tsp oil, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, a pinch of hing (asafoetida), a few curry leaves

Instructions:
1. In a blender or food processor, grind the grated coconut, roasted chana dal, green chilies, ginger, and salt to a smooth paste.
2. Add water as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
3. Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.
4. For tempering, heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
5. Add hing and curry leaves and fry for a few seconds.
6. Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.

7. Your white coconut chutney is ready to serve!
