ALOO (POTATO) PAKORA AND KANDA( ONION )BHAJIYA
KANDA bhajiya
Onion Bhajiya:
Ingredients:
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp ajwain seeds
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add the sliced onions, chickpea flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, ajwain seeds, and salt to taste. Mix well.
2. Gradually add water to the mixture until you get a thick batter consistency.
3. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan on medium flame.
4. Using a spoon or your hands, drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil.
5. Fry the bhajiyas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain the excess oil and transfer the bhajiyas to a serving plate.
7. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
Aloo Pakora
Aloo Pakoda:
Ingredients:
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp ajwain seeds
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl,add Chickpea flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, baking soda and salt to taste. Mix well.
2. Gradually add water to the mixture until you get a flowing batter consistency.
3. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan on medium flame.
4.Coat potato in the batter AND Fry into the hot oil.
5. Fry the pakodas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain the excess oil and transfer the pakodas to a serving plate.
7. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
