Sprouts

Image
Cooked Sprouts Here is another healthy and easy recipe which is quick to cook. For the beginners, who are not familiar with the wide range of pulses, I have posted a description and pictures (from google) of Green Gram (known as Moong in Hindi) and also how it looks originally and once it's spouted. Description: M oong or green gram is a small ¼-inch, round, olive-green bean that is mustard or off-white coloured inside. The beans have a sweet flavour, soft texture, and are easy to digest. Green gram is available in many forms including whole, split, de-husked (yellow) and ground. Sprouts are rich in a number of important nutrients. While the specific ratio of nutrients varies depending on the type of sprout, they generally contain high levels of folate, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin K. In fact, they have higher amounts of these nutrients than fully-grown versions of the same plants. RECIPIE: Soak Moong for 7 to 8 hours in water and then wash it well and  tie it tigh...

Custard

Image
This is my most favorite version of Custard which is very easy & quick to prepare. All you need to do is grease a baking tray with butter and pour 2 big Rainbow Brand cardamom flavor milk in it and mix it well with half cup Nestle brand sweetened condensed milk, few pinches of saffron, 2 eggs and put it for baking in a pre heated oven. Once its ready ,garnish with some sliced pistachios and sliced almonds and once its cooled down, refrigerate it and serve chilled. You can also mix some almonds and pistachios in the custard mixture before putting it for baking. HINT:  Dip a long toothpick in the custard, if it comes out clear and if the custard is firm from inside it indicates that it's cooked. Seeing the top portion turning light brown can be misleading thinking its cooked from inside as well ,but its not the case always, so ensure to poke the toothpick inside to get the perfect and accurate result. Always remember to cover it with foil while putting it in the fridge so ...

It is one of the signature delicacies, made exclusively to celebrate this auspicious occasion. Some of the most integral ingredients used in this delicacy are Til (Sesame seeds) and Gur (Jaggery). This is a common expression used to greet family and guests in Marathi households during Makar Sankranti celebrations. The expression literally means ‘Eat Til (Sesame seeds) & Gur (Jaggery) and speak sweet’.
